Jodi Picoult needs no introduction, and I find her having to defend her work infuriating. The American notion that banning books in this century is sensible defies logic and flies in the face of progression and enlightenment.

The obvious contradiction being the right of not-so-stable individuals to buy guns at shopping malls, while denying sane people the right to read, makes a mockery of US laws.

The list of banned books is beyond crazy, and even I’ve read 14 of 18 on one list.

I don’t feel disturbed in any way, and yes, as a parent you do have the right to decide what your children read, but no right to tell me what mine can’t.

I’m with Jodi on this and I hope she gives them hell.
